LOS FELIZ (90027) is named after its land grantee, José Vicente Feliz. It is northwest of Silver Lake.
Griffith J. Griffith (interesting story), donated a large portion of his land to the city of Los Angeles, Griffith Park becoming one of the largest city-owned parks in the country, the rest of the land being developed into Los Feliz and Silver Lake. 
Los Feliz is the home of Mickey Mouse Walt Disney having drawn his first image of the character at his uncle's house. The first and second Disney Studios were also located in the area. Monogram Studios where the Charlie Chan movies were shot. Many movie stars have called Los Feliz home over the years and it has some well known architecture from the likes of Frank Lloyd Wright - Ennis House and Hollyhock House, and Richard Neutra's Lovell House.
Los Feliz is an affluent has many great eateries and bars and is one of Los Angeles' more affluent and trendy areas.
The most famous occupants of the area are the Griffith Observatory, the Los Angeles Zoo, and The Greek Theater.
For golfers Griffith Park hosts two busy 18-hole public golf courses, both not for your average hacker. The course abuts the L.A. Zoo, so as you round the 18th hole you can usually hear some unusual sounds, not to mention see the odd peacock. Deer and coyotes are often present on the course.
ATWATER VILLAGE (90039) borders Los Feliz to the south, and Glendale to the north. The area is a mix of original Spanish-style houses and bungalows built in the 1920s and 1940s, and craftsman, and the area boasts some of the most unique architecture in Los Angeles.
Atwater Village, because of its affordability as compared to its more affluent neighbors of Los Feliz and Silver Lake, is fast becoming the choice for young professionals.
