West Hollywood Halloween Parade 2010

Halloween is drawing near and the West Hollywood Halloween Parade is a must see for those of you who have never been.

This will be the 23rd annual West Hollywood Halloween Parade and it is expected to draw half a million people to the venue which stretches from La Cienega on the east to Doheny on the West.

The Parade is said to be the largest of its kind in the world and this year is complemented by the Rocky Horror Picture Show's 35th anniversary celebration.  There will be an actual parade starting at La Cienega at 7:00 p.m. and featuring the cast of the show which will perform excerpts throughout the evening. Although termed a Parade, the West Hollywood Halloween Parade is an informal walking back and forth of people in costume and gawkers, "parading" back and forth throughout the evening. The last couple of years I have attended there have been more civilians than people in costume.

The festivities will start at 6:00 p.m. and continue through 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 31st.

Parking is extremely difficult.  To ensure a space consider going early and grabbing a bite at one of the many restaurants in the area.

Below are a few pictures from last year's event.
