Stay Away From Pampa Furniture in Los Angeles

Stay away from Pampa Furniture, Los Angeles

I really hate it when someone gets taken advantage of, and the value this company puts on the customer service is zero.Chairs

Without getting into too much detail, my friend purchased $7,000 of bedroom furniture from the West Los Angeles store and was promised a
n early delivery date.  With this in mind she got rid of her old furniture and was expecting the new pieces to be delivered prior to two sets of expected guests.  The furniture was not delivered, nor was there ever a request for it to be rushed and delivered early.

After contacting the store three times, each time with a promise from the salesperson that they would call her back with an answer which they never did, she contacted the owner.  The owner's response was that a mistake was made followed by "what do you expect me to do about it, with people starving all over the world."

The furniture was scheduled to be delivered on the following Monday, the original full delivery dates.  Was it delivered - yes
SOME of it was, with one incorrect piece.

Can you imagine an owner of a company not offering some kind of compensation to an inconveniences and unsatisfied customer!

How long do you think we as Realtors would remain in business with this kind of reputation!

Business is about customer service and without customer service we do not deserve the business!

Unfortunately, many small business owners do not understand business beyond the sale. Instead of berating this business, take this opportunity to add value to the aforementioned company as to a better way of doing business.

James, unfortunately, they had their chance to better their business.  My friend is extremely unconfrontational and the nicest of the nice.  The woman walked all over her.  This is not the first instance I have heard of this.  It is pure arrogance.  I go out of my way to commend when good work is done, but also do the same with poor performance.

Hi Jane!  The customer is ALWAYS right and when you omit your largest asset, customer service, your business DIES!   I hope you tell everyone you know to stay away from Pampa Furniture in Los Angeles!

Funny thing, I guess great minds think alike, I'm writing a post about a horrible experience that we had with a vendor.  I always use them first, personally, before ever referring them to one of my clients.  The title was going to be VERY similar!  I'll shoot you an email when I post it next week!

Have a great weekend...

Debe, I look forward to it.  I really do go out of my way on both sides of the fence.  If someone does a great job or a terrible one.  I am so upset about this treatment of my friend who wouldn't day boo to a goose that I had to at least try.  If they lose at least one customer it will have been worth it.

Hi Jane - That is a terrible situation.  Unfortunately, it is all too common.  I like that TV commercial that says, "We treat you like our business depends on it - because it does!"

Jane, you know, any business can screw up (even us).  But it's the way that they fix things that makes all the difference.  These guys are lame.

Posted by Patricia Kennedy (Evers & Company Realtors) over 2 years ago

Susan, obviously the owner is clueless.

Pat, absolutely right.  They just kept screwing up.  Never let up.  Amazing people like this stay in business.

Thanks for dropping by guys.

Wow, what a response from the owner of the company. With that being the the head of the company and the attitude toward customer satisfaction they shouldn't be around long. Word of mouth is a powerful tool.

Carol, that is the problem.  They have been around for quite a while.  As I mentioned above, if they lose one customer because of this I will feel happy.

I have no tolerance for poor customer service. I fired a pool service company and a landscaper this summer, and told the new companies - they have both been extremely pleasant since coming on board !

I wish my friend could fire this company, Sheldon.   But if just one person doesn't buy from them then I will be happy.

I've had a similar experience with Pampa

I ordered a dresser five months ago, and have had an ongoing battle to get it delivered. I've been cussed at on the phone, hung up on, and generally bitched at by in-store staff. They told me it would be ready in 3 weeks after ordering, but I never heard from the store. I've had to call them to hunt down my order and they absolutely refuse to work with me. I tried to support a new local store and got absolutely shat on by pampa. I see they are already discounting all merchandise to 50% off so I don't see them lasting much longer.

Sorry to hear that, James.  I have heard a few of these stories.  Hope you get things resolved.  If you paid up front, then you should have some kind of recourse.

Jane,

This is terrible.

I cannot imagine any company staying in business with this kind of service.  What a smart elec response from the owner also.

Judi,  this post got a couple of people who had the same experience contact me and I put them together.  There are a lot of complaints against them.

I am in the midst of a bad experience with the Pasadena store.  I purchased a sofa and picked the fabric I liked.  I was told it would be ready in 2-3 weeks.  After 4+ weeks and two additional fabric choices (the first two choices were not available), at least 10 phone calls to a very rude customer service woman and threatening to cancel the order, I finally got a call from the co-owner who guaranteed the the third choice of fabric is in stock and the couch will be delivered in 4 days with no delivery charge.

If I say I am hopeful yet skeptical you will understand.

Steve,  wow, yet another unsatisfied customer.  How these people stay in business is beyond me.  Hope you get the issue resolved.  And don't forget to post your experience wherever you can, Yelp for instance.

Pampa is AWFUL! They should've been out of business years ago. I wish that I would have check the internet before I went there. They have an F rating from the Better Business Bureau as well as TONS of bad reviews on yelp and city search.

Pampa provided me with the worst shopping experience of my life. Terrible quality, terrible customer service as well as the worst staff with attitude that I've ever come accross.

DO NOT SHOP AT PAMPA. If you don't believe me, google pampa furniture reviews, or go to the BBB website

Belinda,  sad, isn't it.  It is amazing how they stay in business at all.

Pampa's business ethics are catching up with them and are being investigated. A major class action suit against Pampa Furniture will be happening very soon, so hang in there guys!
