Looking for cage-free dog day-care or boarding in Los Angeles, The Loved Dog provides a wonderful environment.
Run by Tamar Geller, trainer to Oprah Winfrey's golden retriever puppies, The Loved Dog is a wonderful place to house your dog while you are at work or away from town.
I visited the facility on Pontius Avenue in West Los Angeles and couldn't draw myself away. The dogs were running around having a great time. The employees seem to be having a ball also.
The larger dogs are separated from the smaller ones, but the small dogs with big personalities join the large ones. It is adorable.
The Loved Dog also provides non-aggressive play training techniques approved by the U.S. Humane Society.
Another nice feature is pick-up and delivery of your dog.

That sounds wonderful. I only have one lady that I will board my puppies with when I am away and can't get my daughter to house sit. She has wonderful indoor/outdoor runs with comfy beds and we take our own food. She is also my dog groomer. Mostly I just stay home because it's like leaving my kids.
Oh how cool is that place ! I have a terrific Doggie Day Car Center here, where they take amazing care of the pooches, but they do have large cages though - so cageless sounds like a fabulous option if they can keep the control !
Tammy, another reason I won't get a dog. I would never leave home.
Sheldon, you should see this place. The dogs were having an absolute ball. I wanted to run around the place with them.
Jane it sounds like a real nice place that I would feel comfortable leaving my dogs at ...peace zane
This is a wonderful post... most of us are so picky about who we leave our best friends with, it's like leaving our children with someone.
Zane, you would not want to leave your dogs, you would want to stay with them and play.
Judi, this is a unique place, you would love it.
What a great place for our pets! Some people really don't understand the bond between us and our babies pets.
Thanks for dropping by, Carol. When I heard about it I had to go by and check it out. It is very near where I live.
Hi Jane, Glad you went and checked it out - now people in your area have a great alternative. Sounds like the dogs were having a good time.
So was I, Mary. Thanks for checking in. Have a great rest of the evening.
This is really great. My neighbor would be so happy to have place like this in our area.
That sounds like a nice place, Jane, and obviously a better environment than traditional kennels, but not for me. Bob and I haven't gone on a vacation (just the two of us) since late 2001...before we got dogs! :)
Leilani
Haris, maybe this will be franchised out. Sounds like there is a need for it.
Leilani, exactly why I won't get a dog.
Hi Jane. Is this what they mean when they talk about the long dog days of summer?
Something like that, James.
Jane, sounds like the kind of place that Willie the Labradoodle would adore!
I should introdcue Willie the Labradoodle to Noah the Labradoodle, Pat.
Jane, I think that is just a wonderful thing to do with a dod. Mine is 12 pounds of demanding...and he's old. He would probably be put in time out!
Hi Jane, Especially with the holidays coming and many people traveling, the Loved Dog sounds like the perfect place in West Los Angeles.
Jane, he would probably be put on the second floor with the little dogs because the little dogs with large personalities will be downstairs giving him room.
Jen, it is a great place and right next to my house. Who knew!
