My guess is Venice today is not the same Venice I grew up near in the late 1960's and early 70's. Last time I was ther, about 15 years ago, so much had changed - it was very commercialized...not yet trendy...gang problems and cops everywhere...kind of scarey actually...now I'm guessing it is another trendy beach city...
John, it is getting there. There are still parts that are rather dicey but pretty soon that will be edged out.
