I was recently introduced to Broadview Mortgage, a lender in California who specialize in CalPERS loans, public employees and CalSTRS loans, employees of public schools and community colleges. They have recently added a new loan to their portfolio, healthcare workers.
This is an exciting new opportunity for almost anyone in the healthcare field to obtain an affordable loan. The category is broad - medical receptionist, physicians aid, ambulance driver, physical therapist etc.
If you have any questions, especially if you would like to know if you qualify, please let me know. I would be happy to put you in touch with the appropriate party.
Below is an outline of eligibility for the three loans:

This is an overview of the actual loan:

Great blog! Super information. Thank you. I will pass this on.
Cindy Steinemann
I am going to post a little more info on my website. Thanks for dropping by, Cindy. This is just for California, I believe.
Interesting concept that stimulates the employment pool for CA state positions. It's a great idea that should be considered/adopted in other states. I especially like the lower the down payment.
Leolinda, it is effectively like an FHA loan, as are the others. It is a great incentive for another group of people.
Jane - This is a wonderful program and over the years, I have worked with quite a few teachers and police officers who have qualified for CalSTRS or CalPERS. This program offers it's members affordable loan options and the CalPERS & CalSTRS rates are also very competitive.
Jane: I use Broadviw Mortgage also. They are an excellent Direct Lender and have been in business since 1988!!!!
Jane, what a great program for Healthcare workers buying a home in Los Angeles!
Hi Jane, are they a Credit Union? A lot of credit unions offer good programs for these employees, and union members. 3.5% FHA?
Jane we closed a deal this fall with a company called Physician Loans. They are for new Dr's. Went really well, it was an on line lending company and was one of the easiest mortgages we dealt with all year. Seems like there are some interesting ways to get financing.
Jane - What great news to healthcare workers ! If I fell into that category, I would be contacting you for sure in your area ! Great info to present to the consumer as well as the AR community ! ~ Chris
It's wonderful that there are mortgage programs specifically targetted toward healthcare workers. Generally, They must be a good credit risk..
Jane - those are fantastic programs available! Great post outlining the qualifications and I am sure that you will get many people interested!
Jane, This would seem to be a great market niche for lenders. The number of healthcare workers will likely increase as the population increases, and in most cases, techology does not lead to fewer healthcare workers but more.
Did those great bottles of French wine make it through US Customs OK?
Donne, these are great loans, especially since they are fixed, so no surprises.
Jane, nice to know, thank you.
Maria, thanks for dropping by.
Carla, no they are a direct lender. I met them at San Diego REBar Camp.
Nick, interesting. I guess creative lending is in. No problem as long as the loans are fixed.
Chris, thank you. I appreciate your comments.
Judi, yes, the healthcare industry is one of the ones with predicted growth.
Leesa, one can only hope :)
Wayne, thanks for the comments. And no, the wine was for eyeballing only :)
Jane - This is an outstanding way to help the people in the healthcare field - especially since they are the ones helping everyone else with health care needs. Thanks for the info.
Susan, I do believe this is just California right now, but who knows, it may catch on.
Thanks for sharing! I will definitely do some more research and pass the info along.
Amanda, it is a good loan, so see if you can get some business from it :)
