January 16th. Santa Monica Pier. With wind chill, in the 60s. It doesn't get any better than this.
By the way, the Ferris wheel was installed around two years ago and the colors change so many times you have to wait a long time to see the same combination.
I wondered why so many people were around today. Now I know why!

Hi Jane! What beautiful photos and what a gorgeous area to work! I also love your Picasa slideshows--perhaps I need to check into that! (As if I don't have enough to do, right?! I'm having trouble keeping up with all of this technology!! LOL)
Have a wonderful Sunday...
Jane, your pictures, impressive I may add, depict the lifestyle and serenity that Santa Monica residents enjoy. I certainly could live there.
o.k....I'm on the fence now.....I may stop selling new construction and just pick up and move there.
Your photos are just gorgeous, Jane. You are doing a fabulous job promoting your area with your slide show - who wouldn't want to be there.
Jane, I have the BEST memories of spending time on the Santa Monica Pier! I went several times and took my children on more then one occasion. I NEVER wonder why anyone would love to live there, I certainly would!
They sold the old ferris wheel on ebay several years back. The old one was one of the first "Green" powered ferris wheels ever made. It was solar powered.
Hi Jane, Gorgeous photos of the sunset and the Santa Monica Pier! It looks like a beautiful evening to be down there enjoying it all.
Hi Jane,
Way to go in selling lovely Santa Monica! Your pictures are wonderful and love the slide show!! They depict the serene lifestyle... who wouldn't not want to move there?
Jane - What alluring photos of your area. Scenes from the beach have me yearing for a trip to the shore.
I have to hand it to you Jane, the view is to die for. I'm not sure I could deal with the earthquakes and traffic in California though. Beautiful photos, you are a very good photographer.
Hi Jane-Those are gorgeous photos. Windchill of 60. Funny. Have a super Sunday. <SMILE>
Debe, Picassa is really easy. Just load and embed. You don't have to do much. Thanks for dropping by and have a great week.
Leolinda, with sunsets like this a view over the ocean is most desirable. Hence the prices in that area.
Carole, the pier is much different now. A little more upscale. And that Ferris wheel really adds pizzazz.
Mark, and I didn't know it was green. I think it was about two years ago and I didn't realize it was on EBay. Thanks for the info.
Mary, it was a lovely evening. We are expecting heavy rain so those clouds added to the colors.
Dorie, so when are you moving?
Claude, which shore is the question?
Nathan, I am point and click. Re the earthquakes, well a few minutes of shaking and then back to the sunset. And traffic - been to New York, or Boston, or any major city in the U.S. and Europe? Ours doesn't compare :)
Sharon, 60 is cold. Thanks for coming by,
Hi Jane - Palm trees, beach, and vivid sunsets really say southern California. Great shots of the Ferris wheel, too!
John, thank you very much.
The closest I have been to Santa Monica Pier is the flight into LAX. The photo of the Ferris wheel reminds me of our own local Ferris wheel at Navy Pier in Chicago. In regards to the weather, we are happy to see the temps above freezing and a little sunshine here in Northwest Indiana.
James, congratulations on the heatwave :) Funnily enough the person I was with last night in Santa Monica was saying that they should one of the light-show Ferris wheels in place of the one in Chicago. Small world.
Jane- this could be a virtual tour your Chamber could use!! Beautiful shots. Who wouldn't want to move there??!
Kathy, hey that's an interesting idea. Thanks for dropping by.
When I was a kid I used to hitchhike from Hollywoood to Sant Monica to hang out all day. Once I even played beach volleyball with Wilt Chamberlain - he use to hang out there too. Sure has changed - but what hasn't in 40 plus years...
John
John, I heard yesterday that a 70 something man used to walk from Hollywood to Santa Monica. That's something. Yep things do change.
Jane, It seems you have slipped back to recruiting, and now you are recruiting all of your fellow Realtors to join you in Santa Monica. I, for one, would not be opposed. NOT in the very least.
You'll have to work on Claude a bit more though. I think he was referencing the East coast-specifically, Charleston. You will have your work cut out for you!
Jane, he was mumbling something about wanting to go to the coast. I could show him what you can get for your money out here and that will be the and of that! Nothing is going to sway him. Would love to have you guys here though. Oh what fun we'd have...... jingle bells.
Jane, it is true...magnificent fun!
Jane, :)
Jane those shots take your breath away. What a beautiful place to live and work!
Debra, thank you. It does have it's moments.
