Hi Jane, Sounds like a wonderful area, I liked the American Foursquare beach house on your link too!
Mary, thanks for dropping by. Appreciate it.
The heavily lined trees that hover the streets are beautiful. I'm not accustomed to seeing many cars parked on the street. Do these homes have garages?
Beautiful beaches, palms and I really like the eclectic homes. Ocean Park looks like a great location for that "permanent vacation.".
You sure make it sound appealing-I'm ready to move in!
I enjoyed your mention of the street, 'Hollister.' I used to snicker about the trendy clothing store at the malls named 'Hollister' with their surfing theme. To me, Hollister is an inland town in San Benito County south of San Jose, known for annual motorcycle gatherings and nowhere near the beach. Now I figure perhaps they had your street and Santa Monica in mind--that would make sense.
Thanks for the education!
Leolinda, there lies the rub. Good question. That is a problem with the older homes on those streets Either no garages or tiny ones you can't put a motorbike in. But the remodeled ones tend to get lifted and the garages put underneath. Everyone else has to get permit parking.
Carol, it sure is a great place, and you do feel as though you are living in a beach house.
Lottie, no such luck. Wadsworth and Hollister were two guys who developed the area in 1902. Thanks for dropping by.
Great place to live!
Cheryl and David, it sure is.
