One minute I am complaining we don't have a summer. Next, that it's too
hot. But the heat complaint was short-lived because we actually didn't have a summer in Los Angeles.
Now it is beyond ridiculous. 108 near the beach on September 27th. 113 downtown L.A. is the HOTTEST EVER RECORDED there.
A little sympathy please...... It's our turn now.

Jane, We've had a week of super unusually hot temperatures here too for this time of year, but nothing close to yours. My sympathies. Hope things cool off soon for you.
None from me sorry - I lust for that dry heat, I miss it. Wait, did you say 113?
Jane the good news is by Wednesday the beaches will be back to the 70's. BTW I am working out of the house today. As you know I live in Marina Del Rey and all I have on is the fan and it is comfortable:))) How is your part of the world??
Leah, thank you. Appreciate it :)
Margaret, did I say dry heat :)
Endre, are you in a pocket? Santa Monica is 100 today, Westwood 106. Can't believe all you have is a fan. I never use the air conditioning, I am too cheap, but it's on today.
I'll even give you a little sympathy there Jane..........yikes, that's hot. I remember being in Palm Springs years ago in August and the temperature hitting 117...........hot, hot, hot.
No sympathy Jane. We got up to 91 on Sunday. I guess we're all about 1 and a half months behind the normal season temps... g
Jane - Yep, pretty much the same out here in Simi Valley. UUUGGGHHH!!!
Roger, I believe we beat Palm Springs today and that is highly unusual. But thanks for your sympathy.
Gordon, and I thought you were nice. 91 is quite cool and you have that lovely mountain air. Can you imagine what we are breathing in here.
Donne, oy, Simi Valley. I can only imagine.
Jane - amazing isn't it? I suspect there will be all sorts of records set today. It was about 95 here in Carlsbad, which is the hottest it's been in a very long time, and jsut a few miles inland 108. Everyonbe else in the country seemed to have hot weather so now it's our turn.
Jeff
I can't wait until winter....love the snow....you can have your hot humid summer days....
Jane, that is so funny, must be the only cool pocket, we have a stream running in front of our unit...maybe. I have not ventured out to go to the mailbox yet:))
Jeff, no turns. I don't want any turns. I like hot, but this.....
Barbara, not usually humid. And snow, well you may keep that. Nice to look at, that's about it. Just send me pictures.
Endre, warning. Don't!!!!
Hot up here too ... and I don't have air conditioning. Sticky, sticky, sticky. Ugh!
Cynthia, unbelievable isn't it. We should be sitting in a coffee shop somewhere, which I did for a couple of hours. And I have air-conditioning. But the time it cools my place I will probably rack up $100 in bills.
So that's where our heat went. Can you send it back? It was abou 79 degrees here today. I'm cold natured so I get cold if it's 80 degrees and the wind is blowing. Give me 113 degrees over 33 degrees any day.
Holy cow! And to think I was complaining when we hit 112 here in Huntsville. Our weather turned from blazing HOT to cool. I"m not ready for fall yet. I'll take heat any day over the cold. I'll pass on 127 though, lol.
Charita, I don't think so. There is heat and there is heat. I hate the cold, but this is ridiculous.
Elizabeth, as I told Charita, I don't think you would like this heat.
How late is the library open? A movie? A mall? City Hall -- I'll bet they have AC!
Jane, you have my sympathy. We had a beautiful day today in the low 80's with sun and a light breeze. As I watered by potted plants this afternoon, I remembered I was picking the seeds off my petunias after the first frost this time last year, so it is our turn to have a nice long summer. But you should take comfort in knowing that out of about a dozen tomatoe plants, I only harvested about 8 tomatoes this year. Too cold in the evening and dry.
Nancy
Good grief Jane what is the weather doing?? You must have gotten our Texas heat because this morning it was 59 degrees in Austin and got up to 77..was delightful! No humidity..is this Texas??
Jane it has been a crazy year where weather is concern. Here is hoping you will have some ideal weather soon.
Wow -- I thought New England had a heat wave this summer. This reminds me of when I lived in tuscon! Keep cool my friend and drink lots and lots of water!
108 degrees? You have to be kidding!! I'm in the mountains right now for a real estate seminar, and it is probably in the 40's. I'll think cool for you, and you can think warm for me!
Wow! I just heard that it peaked at 113 in LA! Now that is really hot.
OHHH !!! Weeeeell now !!!!!
Loooky who has a few choice words about "The Weather" today !!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe I remember a same individual scoffing at our East coast weather earlier this year claiming that LA is always beautiful and sunny so come out and join you there, or stop whining about the East Coast Snow !!!
Hows that 'beautiful sunny' environment doing today ?!?!?! Maybe there is such a thing as 'too much beautiful sunnyness" ?????
... it was a fabulous 78 degrees and sunny over this way today !
Sorry, couldnt resist ;o)
That is Too Darn Hot! I can't imagine too many home shoppers are out there on a day like that.
Wow! That's hot! You have my sympathy. The good thing though is that you all have A/C out there. Hope it's working REALLY well! :)
Leslie, I have air conditioning. Just too cheap to run it :)
Nancy, no I don't take comfort in only 8 tomatoes. You have my sympathy :)
Dorie, the world has gone wacky.
Jennifer, thank you.
Joan, thank you. Trying to keep cool. It should break by Wednesday.
Ruth, one extreme to the other.
Patricia, it is. Broke all records.
Sheldon, I am waiting. Winter is coming. I'll be ready.
Rich, they don't need the heat excuse not to be out :)
Nina, well, we can find places to go to if we want to. Thanks for the sympathy.
Hi Jane, We only got to 111 today and cooling trend expected tomorrow. We are only going to hit between 99 and 100. I'' be sure to take a jacket. Isn't the temp unreal. I touched a leaf on one of flowering plants and it was crisp. I think the plants had a heat stroke.
William, I am moving down to San Diego. A cool 111. Wow.
Does it cool off at night at all?? Remember, I used to live down there for 30+ years, and if the breeze picked up and it dropped 30 degrees . . . but those nights with no wind, and it stayed stagnant == ah, yes, a little piece of San Fernando Valley hell. On Saturday, up north, we were hovering around 60, and it rained. Today was warm at 85, but it's cooled off. I feel for you Jane. Drink water!!
Poor baby... I am a snow bunny so I feel your discomfort. Summer in Florida was a system shock to me (LOL). ;-)
113 in downtown L.A.? OUCH! That's just inhumane! Thank God for air conditioning!
Jane, I caught the temps late last night for your area, and that is a touch painful. Could it be someone telling the LA party-goers to tone it down a bit?
ooo Jane I am so sorry you had a split second of really hot heat haha. It's like Cali had a few days of ridiculous heat all rolled into one..but really that is desert degrees out there. I don't care what people say, global warming or not, either way the atmosphere on earth is changing (from the looks of it not in the best direction) Trying to be positive but realistic at the same time.
Carla, unfortunately not one of those heatwaves where it cools off. It was probably in the 80s last night. Hopefully will be back to something normal tomorrow. I remeber driving through the Valley one night around 8:00 p,m. and it was 104.
C, summer in Florida. Ouch. The humidity is as high as the temps.
Craig, it looks like the grid held out because I can imagine that a/c going 24/7.
Ed, we do have a terrible rep don't we!
Laura, this year was a great example of all's not well with the planet.
I hear ya Jane. We're finally getting the summer we never got, now that it's fall, and I promised not to complain. So, inside working in the AC, and I'll knock off for a nice evening swim. Stay cool!
But Janey dear, last winter when I was freezing my you know what off... you kept telling me how nice it was in LA and now you want sympathy???? HAHAHA. Okay then, I hope your temps are back to normal soon. :)
Ah, we had some rain over the weekend and now the cooler weather. It's really starting to feel like fall!
Wow, Jane...."Hottest ever recorded!" That's not good and is deserving of some sympathy so you got it from Lake Charles where it is downright perfect fall weather. :)
Jane..That is HOT ..Even in the dead of summer it does not get that hot here ...
HelpfulHannah
Karen, the pool sounds great.
Tammy, I didn't hear you asking for sympathy. Just ask and you shall receive :)
Carol, cooler weather must be nice after the hot summer.
Mary Kay, thank you kindly. I will take it.
Hannah, 113 is definitely hot. And it is humid too. But it feels like it has broken now.
It was 106 today in Palo Alto according to my car. I took my dog to the fountains at Stanford to cool off.
Hmmmmm, I was hinting for an invitation to a warmer climate. LOL
Tammy, as I said, ask and ye shall receive.
I have three words for you - water, water, water - as in drink twice as much as normal!!!! Trust me, I know living here where your temp wouldn't even make us wince.
Juli, it would if you had the humidity we had here. Like the tropics. And yes, I have been in AZ in the middle of summer. How do you guys do it?
Hi Jane, I could tell you about our most pleasant climate - but that would just be mean! Hope you are a cooler today and lovin' L.A. again!
Mary, it is in fact somewhat cooler, but sticky. Thanks for keep ing your pleasant climate to yourself :)
That's truly bizarre weather you're getting! I hope you can suffer through it and enjoy some cooler days and nights soon.
Georgie, it is cooling off thank goodness.
Wow, those are Las Vegas temp's. You need to find a beach and enjoy the water. Or an umbrella, LOL.
Scott, Las Vegas was much cooler.
