Jane: I think it would be just great if everyone could always buy local whenever possible. Locally made, locally grown, locally whatever. What a boost it would be to the local economies... and even a boost for local jobs. Let the Chinese unemployment figures go up a notch for once.
What a great Localism post. < suggested >
What a great idea ....we have Buy Idaho days but I like the Buy Santa Monica idea!!!
Karen, thank you. Much appreciated.
Michelle, yes, and even hyper local.
Deborah, great idea these local promotions.
HI Jane - Santa Monica has changed so much! It has definitely grown, and looks like a lot of fun to visit!
Hi Jane, I love these local events and this one sounds like something I would really enjoy. A great way to spend the day!
Should be an on going effort to buy local... keeping taxes local is so smart.
Jane,
That looks like a great fun. Just can't beat hanging out in Santa Monica.
Jane, healthir all the way around to buy local - hope this is a success!
Good morning Jane,
Great way to go by buying local! Looks like this will be a very successful event! As Scott says you can't beat hanging out in Santa Monica!
What a great way to support the local merchants and have a family day as well. In our area we just have the 'Mall Sales".
Sharon, it is growing by leaps and bounds.
William, should be a lot of fun.
Tammy, yes, every community should think of something like this.
Scott, you need to come back.
Janice, it sure is.
Dorie, you also need to come back.
Ed, I think we have some of those too :)
Good afternoon, Jane. Sounds like a wonderful event. I always do my best to buy local... food, gasoline, clothing, etc. Fortunately, my Murrieta community provides all that I need. (Great localism post, by the way!)
Bill, thank you, I appreciate it. You'd think the L.A. area would have more local products. I don't think Murrieta has local gas does it? :)
Jane: Having "local gas" depends greatly on what one had for lunch. And, as usual, your mileage may vary.
Karen, LOL.
Looks like some great opportunities and weather to be outdoors this weekend. Will you be running or shopping?
Jane, in Fort Worth, we have an over-abundance of Mexican Restaurants, and most serve really good food. With that in mind, there is no shortage of "local gas." We have, in fact, and over-supply. Too bad someone cannot figure out how to it into a car's gas tank. Darn...
Maybe some sort of modification of the in-car "Breathalizer" mechanism would work. I dunno.
LOL! Hi Jane. So you mean “Farmer’s Market” local, eh? And with the exception that Karen Anne mentioned... Nope, I don’t use local gas.
John, yeah right. Guess!
Karen, you are too much :)
Bill, glad you came back to see Karen's comments :)
Jane... sorry, it just hit me that this... being a hyper-local post... it is meant to be a "public post." So... if you feel you need to delete my silly comments because they are very off-topic... I will totally understand. Do what you think works best for your business. Have a great weekend.
Karen, hey, it's all part of the fun.
Jane.. That looks like a fun day ..I love the buying local concept
