If you are moving to Los Angeles and not sure where you would like to live you are probably looking for a rental property.
You may be considering renting a property in Santa Monica. If you are, do you want a Santa Monica ocean front property, do you want to be in the canyons, near Montana, or Main Street?
Whatever your preference, there are choices. And in Santa Monica they do tend to offer seasonal rentals, more than other areas of Los Angeles.
There are presently 40 condominium units available for lease from $2,200 to $25,000 per month.
There are 26 single family homes available for lease from $2,200 to $145,000 per month. Yes, $145,000!
These are Santa Monica rental properties which are listed on the MLS. You can find more searching the internet on sites like CraigsList or Westside Rentals, but the better properties are generally listed with an agent. And why not let a Los Angeles Realtor® do the leg work for you. It isn’t easy trying to identify the perfect property.
If you identify your requirements early in the process you will make your Realtor®’s life much easier. For instance:
No of bedrooms
Laundry inside the unit
Pool
Pets allowed
Type of building
Square footage

Jane: My boss, the owner of Chicago Bancorp, is famous for telling us to "paint the picture" for our clients and referral partners. You did that perfectly in this post. Lots of clear concise info ...
Gene
Great job letting would be renters know of the services you can provide to assist them here, Jane! That house that rents for $145,000 per month must be fabulous!
Great info for Santa Monica renters in Los Angeles. And--that is the most gorgeous ferris wheel photo I've ever seen! I love the colors!
Gene, thank you.
Bruce, not quite as nice as the one for $250,000 in Beverly Hills.
Debe, thanks. Now I have to get my camera fixed so I can take another one.
Jane,
I have zero problems with renting. However, are the higher price ranges bound by annual leases? g
Gordon, they are seasonal. I cannot imagine too many people committing to a year at those prices.
Jane - jane and I have been hermits here but are letting you know that we are still wanting a trip out there. Have not enjoyed how busy we are. Very little room for my Jane to be her bad self. We are the victim of our own internet presence.
I'm thinking of the witness protection program. Perhaps my whine is childish. This Fall we are on the move
LOL @ Claude and the witness protection program.
It is amazing how much people will pay for a short term rental property in Santa Monica, or anywhere else - do some have room service?
Claude, well, L.A. is a great place to veg out. It's good that you have been busy. That is what this is all about.
Virginia, wouldn't that be nice.
Jane, For $145k a MONTH that must be one heckuva home. You can easily BUY an entire home here for that price! I'm sure it won't be nearly as nice, and it will need quite the road trip from that home to get near a beach :)
Jane - I LOVE the photo! Great information about rental properties in Santa Monica.
Bill, LOL, yep, that will be some trip to the beach.
Michelle, thank you very much.
Jane,
I think Gene said it perfectly in his post. You do paint quite the picture for those looking for property in Los Angeles
Scott, thank you very much.
